Support the Public Option

Without it, there's no competition.

Our current health care system is like our health itself: something we are too eager to ignore until things get really bad. The current situation with health care in America has reached a point where real reform is necessary. Everyone knows that something must be done to address the greed and profit driving insurance companies in order to avoid catastrophe.

We believe the solution is the formation of a publicly owned health care insurance option. Without a public option, insurance reform will not be real reform. "I Support The Public Option" is a vehicle for citizens' voices to be aggregated for elected representatives to see, hear, and feel. We must convince politicians to vote on a bill that contains the charter for a publicly owned health insurance option and nothing less.

It's Moral

Compassion and help for the sick and the weak is a fundamental part of humanity. No matter what god you believe in, what culture you are from, caring for the sick is a moral necessity.

It's Logical

We all end up paying for the care of those who don't have insurance. Providing a public option that is affordable and accessible to all is essential to containing these costs.
